35 Mom Blogs We Love

http://www.tanismiller.com/

Tanis Miller started blogging February 2006, four months after the sudden death of her youngest son, Shale. After googling the words ‘mom’ and ‘grief’, Tanis stumbled onto the world of blogging and it wasn’t long before she decided to make the leap from lurker to author.

For seven years Tanis could be found blogging at Attack of the Redneck Mommy. Her blog was a humorous and insightful look at the joys of parenting, the delights of marriage and the heartbreak of losing a child. Her blog has been featured on CNN, The Globe and Mail and in a variety of Canadian daily newspapers. Attack of the Redneck Mommy™ has repeatedly been named as one of Babble’s top mom blogs and has won the Best Canadian Blog award in the 2011, 2010 and 2008 Bloggies, earning her a spot in the Bloggie Hall of Fame.

Tanis continues to spread her brand of humour and honesty here on Tanis Miller only this time she isn’t pretending to be 50 feet tall while doing it.

What’s New With WordPress ?

Change-language-WordPress-4-after-installation Multilingual

With the WordPress 4.0 release earlier this year, internationalization was improved when users got the option to choose which language to enable when installing WordPress. The latest version extends this trend by including the same functionality in the WordPress admin panel under Settings -> General.

This means you can switch any WordPress installation from its default US English language to any other supported language at any time without having to change configuration files or run an updater. Considering non-English WordPress installations now outnumber their English counterparts, this is an important update that will ensure people all over the world can easily use WordPress.

-What’s new in 4.1 From: WordPress Essential Training with Morten Rand-Hendriksen

  • New Feature: Focus
  • New Theme:  Twenty Fifteen

-GOOGLE: Material design

We challenged ourselves to create a visual language for our users that synthesizes the classic principles of good design with the innovation and possibility of technology and science. This is material design. This spec is a living document that will be updated as we continue to develop the tenets and specifics of material design.

Beautiful and free fonts for all languages

Noto is Google’s font family that aims to support all the world’s languages. Its design goal is to achieve visual harmonization across languages. Noto fonts are under Apache License 2.0.

The comprehensive set of fonts and some of the tools used in our development are available at
