Winter Weather in Montreal Can Cause Quakes

Monrtreal FrostNo Global Warming Here: Montreal Weather

If you are not coming from Russia, Alaska, Finland or Siberia, I really wouldn’t advise a touristic visit in winter.

In the coldest months of the year around November, December and January, the temperature drops as low as -46 °C.

As for the monthes of summer and spring it is a great place to be, but the weather still varies and can’t be trusted, it is better that you bring a back up winter jacket with you.

“Frost Quake”

Some residents on Montreal’s West Island were woken very early in the morning by a loud boom caused by a weather phenomenon known as a “frost quake.”
